Heathrow Primary School
Spring:
This term, Year 6 have linked their Art to their Geography topic on rivers. We have studied Turner and looked at his riverscapes and seascapes. We then developed our watercolour skills by experimenting with colour and tone before recreating one of Turner’s watercolour paintings of the River Thames from Richmond Hill. The children really enjoyed giving this challenging form of painting a really good go.
Autumn:
Year 6 used pastels and charcoal pencils to produce these Electricity themed pictures to link to their ‘Changing Circuits’ topic. They studied perspective and how to change the size of objects to make them seem closer or further away.
During Creative Curriculum week, Year 6 studied the book ‘Corey’s Rock’ which is set on the Orkney Islands. Using a range of different materials, the children produced these fantastic beach collages based on pictures from the book.
