AUTUMN
Year 5 will write a traditional tale focusing on describing settings, characters and an alternative ending - pupils write the story of a character who mistreats others which leads to their own demise. Children will use expanded noun phrases, descriptive language, dialogues, and inverted commas to upgrade their writing.
SPRING
SUMMER
This term, children wrote an information text about Jean-Michel Basquiat. We focused on using precise words suitable for the information text. Children researched and found facts about Jean-Michel Basquiat. They also manipulated the writing style for a specific purpose and audience. They used relative pronouns and cohesive devices to up level their writing.
