In Science this term, we studied living things, classification keys and habitats. The children explored classification keys before creating their own. They had to think carefully about the features of animals before separating them. We made wonderful links to our Geography where we investigated the effects of climate change by using a simple enquiry to demonstrate the effect of a greenhouse and relate this to climate change. We also recognised that changes to an environment can be dangerous to living things and we discussed what can be done to reverse some of the changes
Year 4 have been studying the skeletal system and we looked at the function of muscles and bones. We conducted various experiments thinking about how exercise. After a couple of investigations, we concluded that there is a link between exercise, muscles and stamina. This term, Year 4 are looking at Solids, liquids and gases! We investigated which substances fall under liquids and solids. We had to think carefully about the properties of solids and liquids to make an informed decision. Did you know that some solids behave like liquids, but are actually solids?
