During this cooking topic, Year 4 will be testing and adapting a biscuit recipe to fit a given budget and chosen target audience. Children will begin by tasting a range of shop-brought biscuits to discuss the flavours, textures and appearance of popular biscuits. Children will then follow a basic biscuit recipe and explore a range of additional ingredients before agreeing, as a group, what additional flavours they will add to their biscuit. Once their adapted biscuit recipe has been made and the packaging has been designed, children will bake their final biscuit ready for judging.
