As theologists, the Year 4 children focused on Christianity this Spring term. The topic’s question was ‘ Is forgiveness always possible for Christians?’ The pupils were first encouraged to define forgiveness and explain why it might be difficult to forgive others. The children demonstrated their learning through a drama piece. In the next lesson, children understood what a Christian might learn about forgiveness using the Easter story as inspiration. We then looked at other examples of forgiveness shown by Jesus before looking at what forgiveness means to Christians and the pupils themselves.
