Heathrow Primary School
As scientists, children explored the world of ‘Animals and their habitats’. After being able to understand the characteristics of a living thing, children were able to classify living things in a variety of ways. In the next lesson, the children were introduced to a classification key and were able to design their own basic keys in order to classify. Pupils then turned their attention to the environment and discovered where certain animals lived and why. The children enjoyed undertaking a mini – beast hunt before finally looking at the effect humanity has had on animals’ environments.
