AUTUMN TERM 1
As linguists, pupils started to develop their knowledge of French. They have ben exploring the language by learning how to listen to, say and write French conversational phrases. Such as: saying hello and goodbye to one another (bonjour and au revior). They have also been learning phrases such as ‘what is your name?’ (Commet t'apelles tu?) ‘How are you?’ (Ca va) and the responses to those questions. Finally they learnt how to count to 10 in French. Why not test your child's skills!
AUTUMN TERM 2
In the second part of this half term pupils have started to expand their French vocabulary by learning how to say object names in French, using colours and adjectives to describe them. They have also started to learn how to say and listen to classroom instructions such as sit down as well as continuing to develop their conversational skills by asking someone’s age and responding with theirs
SPRING TERM 1
As linguists this term, pupils have been learning all ‘Mon Corps’ (my body). They have been learning ho to identify parts of their body in French such as their tetes, jambes and visages, (heads, legs and faces).In addition to this they have learnt how describe their eyes, and hair using colours and lengths. Finally they have learnt they very useful skill of knowing the days of the week in French.
