Number Day 2024

For this year's Number Day, we raised money for the NSPCC by having a number themed no-uniform day. The children enjoyed lots of fun mathematical tasks in class as well as a maths themed scavenger hunt outside. It was a great day!

Year 2 enjoyed a great number themed day! We started our morning with a scavenger hunt around the playground answering many difficult and engaging problems. After that, we turned our focus onto money. The Year two children ventured out into the playground and were given a money total. The children then had to use their knowledge of coins to correctly draw the correct coins in regards to shape and amount.

Year 3 have had a very fun morning during Number Day 2024! To start the day we rehearsed our French numbers during the register. We then had to save the whiteboard from being hacked by completing a code-breaker activity. We had to use our times table skills to solve the questions and work out the password to stop the hacker. Finally we completed the scavenger hunt that we set up for us, we enjoyed solving tricky problems and working as a team to complete the hunt!

For number day, Year 4 used multiplication questions to play Top Trumps. The children created their own number sentences for the criteria of their robot designs on every card. The children then played their card game together to see whose robot had the best criteria, the aim of the game was the end up with the most cards!

In Year 5, our day kicked off with an exhilarating scavenger hunt that took us all around the playground, where our budding mathematicians solved various math challenges while having a blast. Once we returned to the classroom, the excitement continued as we delved into an array of stimulating math puzzles, mind-boggling number tricks, and exhilarating code-breaking activities. The enthusiasm and energy in the room were truly infectious, as the students eagerly put their problem-solving skills to the test.
