AUTUMN
Nursery: In Maths, one of the areas we have been focusing on is developing our knowledge and understanding of shape. The children have been encouraged to talk about the different shapes they can see in the environment. They have also played games which involve them matching and naming the shapes.
SPRING
Nursery: This term, the children have been developing their counting and addition skills. The children listened to the story of the ‘Gingerbread Man’. They were then asked to choose a number and put the correct number of gingerbread men on the plate. Next they were asked how many would I have if I put one more on the plate. Finally, they were given two plates and asked to work out how many gingerbread men there were altogether. Also the children had to count the correct number of pennies to go with the number on the piggy banks.
