Heathrow Primary School
We kicked off this term by reading short stories from our the book Survivors. The book tells the story about how people have survived natural disasters. From these stories, children wrote fascinating newspaper articles. We also saw how an earthquake causes destruction in our own classroom.
One morning, when children returned their classroom, it was a mess. Our Year 5 children became journalists, investigating what led to this chaos in the classroom. From their investigation, they found that an earthquake had hit Heathrow Primary School! As journalists, children wrote intriguing newspaper reports about the event, interviewing teachers to find out what happened. Children thoroughly enjoyed these activities, and as result we might have some future journalists on our hands!
