Year 6 have been incredibly busy this term improving their reading and writing skills. We began the term reading ‘Zoo’ by Anthony Browne and our final piece of work based on this book was a balanced argument as to whether animals should be kept in zoos. Later in the term, we began reading ‘Journey to the River Sea’ by Eva Ibbotson and focussed on a different reading skill each lesson: summarising, inferring, predicting and understanding vocabulary. We have really enjoyed this book so far and can’t wait to find out what happens next!
