During Outdoor Learning Day, we learnt how to measure the age of a tree by measuring the girth and dividing by 2.5! We also discovered that you can estimate the height of a tree by walking a few metres away from the tree, and looking through your legs until you can just about see the top of the tree. Using trundle wheels, you can measure the distance between the tree and yourself to work out the height!
We wrote nature poetry using a variety of styles for example Haikus and Mesostic poems. Have a read!
We ended the day by building a campfire, where we told spooky tales and roasted pineapples!
