PGL - Isle of Wight 2017

We have arrived safe and sound to Little Canada.  The journey down was good and the children loved riding on the top deck of the ferry.  The ferry provided the perfect lunch spot as the children ate their lunch while enjoying a cool ocean breeze.   Once arriving at PGL- Little Canada 3:00pm, the children were introduced to our guide for the week, Kat. Kat then took us on a tour of the site, settled us in the accommodation and played some games to end the night.

The children enjoyed their first night in their cabins and are excited for tomorrow's activities.

Regards, Mr. Giles, Miss Amjadi and Mr. Gabany

Day 2 started off with a yummy breakfast, which all the children enjoyed. All groups went straight into their activities - some getting more messy than others - however all having fun and pushing themselves out of their comfort zone.

Children's activities today consisted of; team building, orienteering, abseiling, Jacob's ladder, sensory trail, archery and trapezing. All children have said they are glad they tried something new and can not wait to share the stories with you.

The children have ended the night with an exciting adventure of travelling around the world with a group game of 'around the world passports'.

Till tomorrow, Miss Amjadi, Mr. Gabany and Mr. Giles

With a full nights rest, the children were up and ready to tackle the day. Today’s activities required the children to face and conquer a lot of their fears, with the trapeze, the giant swing and jacob’s ladder. Their senses were challenged as they completed the sensory trail, where they walked through the woods, mud, water and obstacles without being able to see what they are doing. They also had to work together in team games.

The day has ended with a campfire in the woods. The children are all enjoying their time here and have stated that they are so happy they came!

Till tomorrow, Miss Amjadi, Mr. Gabany and Mr. Giles

Day 4 started off wet and wild. The Year 6's went on an adventure down to the beach today where they learnt how to kayak. Kayaking turned to be a battle of who can get who in the water! The children (and teachers) had so much fun.

After lunch, the children continued to their group activities; climbing, aeroball, problem solving and all aboard. They are now enjoying time at the disco with all the other schools, where some children are bringing out their best moves!

Sad to say good bye to PGL as we end our last night here, however excited to come home to all the families.

Regards,

Miss Amjadi, Mr. Gabany and Mr. Giles

It  has come the time to say good bye as we start our final day at PGL. The children have enjoyed their last two activities; problem solving, all aboard, archery and abseiling. We have eaten lunch and are now completing some group activities before we set off home.

We leave PGL feeling accomplished- either that being conquering our fear of heights or pushing ourselves by trying new things- all the children have gained a lot from this trip.

There will be no more communication via the website. As mentioned in the meeting, we will send a push notification via the MySchool App when we have set sail from the ferry and if we are running late.

We will be departing Little Canada at 3:30pm.

We have all had a great trip and we will see everyone back at school.

Thank you,

Mr. Giles, Miss Amjadi and Mr. Gabany
