We are about 45 minutes away. The time now is 18:50.
See you all soon 😃😃
We have left Barton Hall for our journey home.
We are all tired and have had an amazing time!
See you soon!
PGL Day 4
Another fantastic day at Barton Hall! The rain from yesterday cleared and the sun even decided to put in an appearance! We have been non-stop all day and the children have been having so much fun!
We woke the children up just after 7am - it is definitely getting harder to get them up each morning.
After another breakfast it was straight off to start the day. Today's activities included:
Abseiling: All groups had a go at this and thoroughly enjoyed the thrill of climbing to the top and stepping off the side. Some children conquered their fear of heights and put themselves out of their comfort zone.
Orienteering: This was great fun and got the children running all over the campsite. The children had to find markers in teams and try to be the first back. We were all very impressed with their map reading skills!
Aero ball: This was a great workout for all. Trampolining meets basketball- the children were in teams of 2 and competed in a mini tournament with the aim of scoring the most points.
Group 3 got their go on the Giant Swing today which they loved- group 1 & 2 will get their go tomorrow.
Group 1 & 2 had their quad biking session today! This was a highlight for many and some children have proved to be quite the daredevils!
The children are currently celebrating their final night with a disco. They all got themselves glammed up and ready to party!
A final note...
We have thoroughly enjoyed spending the week with your wonderful children. They have proved to be responsible, considerate, entertaining dare-devils! You should be very proud of them, as we are.
We will not be able to upload any photos before we leave tomorrow but they will be put on a disc for you to have before the end of term.

PGL Day 3
What a fun and fantastic day we have had! It has been pouring with rain but that hasn't dampened the children's spirits!
The children woke at a reasonable time today - much later than yesterday - and headed downstairs for a yummy breakfast. We then headed out to our activities:
Mountain Biking - a fun packed session, learning lots of tips and tricks on our bikes. The children were all very sensible and rode their bikes safely. They particularly enjoyed having a go at the slow bike race.
Crate Challenge - the children had to work together to build a tower made of crates. Then when they reached as high as possible the tower was pushed over which left them swinging in the air!
Climbing Wall - we were so impressed with the children's bravery and perseverance getting to the top of the climbing wall. They all supported each other and encouraged each other well.
Nature Trail - this turned into more of a 'decorating each other's faces with mud' session! However, the children also investigated what was living and growing in the forest and learnt how trees and plants contribute to our lives.
The children are now getting ready for their evening activity, night trackers (a big game of hide and seek).
Overall, a great day!

PGL Day 2
What a busy, wet and fun day we've all had! The children were up very early and dressed long before 7am! We think they must have been too excited to sleep. After a filling breakfast, we split into our 3 groups and headed off for our morning activities.
Morning activities today included:
Group 1 & 2: Raft building and challenge course.
Group 3: Quad biking and Jacob's Ladder
The weather was nice and sunny this morning and we all had a very good time.
There was lots to choose from at lunch and after refuelling we began our afternoon activities. Unfortunately, the rain came and made us all a bit soggy- but we all still had fun!
Afternoon activities included:
Group 1 & 2: sensory trail and Jacob's Ladder
Group 3: sensory trail and raft building
All 3 groups have built rafts today on the lake- some more successful than others- but all children ended up in the water!
Dinner has been good and the children are currently taking part in a quiz and scavenger hunt!

PGL Day 1
We have arrived safe and sound to Barton Hall. The journey down was good and the traffic was kind. We all stopped for lunch at the services and then headed on to Barton Hall where we arrived at about 2:30pm. The children had a quick tour before settling into their rooms and playing games with their group leader Mimi.
After dinner, the children have been out having fun with water bombs and are now watching the second half of the England match before bed.
The sun has been out today, so fingers crossed for a warm and dry tomorrow.
